General Services

The Education Commons brings a highly integrated approach to providing information systems, resources, expertise and support for a wide range of educational projects. Our services include technology training, computer labs, multimedia conferencing and production, and design and development for custom academic computing solutions.

Workshops & Events

Special interest workshops and events are offered regularly throughout the year. Topics include thesis writing support, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and use of online learning tools. Individual consultations are also available to address specific needs in these areas

Computer Labs

The Computer Labs provide access to PC and Macintosh workstations running productivity, research and curriculum software, as well as multimedia peripherals and laser printing. There are six classroom labs, which can be booked online. A general drop-in area with computer workstations and printing is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Online Teaching & Learning

This site provides students and instructors with information about online learning and web-based distance education at OISE. With over 500 fully or partially online course offerings annually, OISE prides itself in the use of a range of collaborative technologies.

Equipment Loan/Rentals

The Media Services supply a variety of audio-visual equipment to support OISE activities and research projects including projectors, laptops, cameras, audio recorders, camcorders, speakers, microphones, transcribers, tape recorders and more.

Technical Support

We are the central point of contact for technical support for the OISE Community. We provide technical assistance regarding use of supported hardware and software. We can assist you with UTORids, email accounts, printing, network access, and much more!

Research Services

We offer a suite of research support services providing start-to-finish support for the research process. Developing a support network, building research skills and knowing what resources are available to you are all keys to success.
