We are partnering with @RegenesisUofT to host a clothing swap at the OISE Library! Stop by the library on Monday, March 31 between 11 am and 3 pm to swap out clothes you no longer wear for a fresh look. Treat yourself to something new without the cost and without the harmful waste of fast fashion! No clothes to donate? No problem! Come by and grab something anyway, it's all free. Items will be limited to 5 per person to make sure everyone gets a chance to take something home.

With high tuition and cost of living, students are often forced to purchase low quality, fast fashion clothing because it is all they can afford. A clothing swap is a great way for a community to share their resources and get new clothes without spending anything or sending old clothes to a landfill. Whether your sense of style has changed, your body, or just your mood, this clothing swap will allow you to grab 5 new clothing items without spending a dime.

Want to learn more about sustainable fast fashion? Join us for our screening of the documentary The True Cost, on Friday, March 28, 2025! Food will be provided! Register here for the documentary screening.

More about Regenesis: Regenesis is a multi-campus, student-led club dedicated to climate justice and social advocacy. One of the key initiatives they help run is the Free Store, located at 487 Spadina Crescent and hosted by the Sustainability Office. There, you can stop by and shop for household items, totally free of charge! It's open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12 pm to 2 pm so if you wish you can't wait for the clothing swap, stop by the Free Store later in the week and start shopping! They are also running a clothing drive earlier in March, so if you have clothes to donate, you can do so before our swap as well! Keep an eye out for details on their Instagram (@RegenesisUofT) for updates on drop-off locations and other details. Another great program to highlight: Regenesis supports students by holding “at-cost” food markets at the UTSU Student Commons bi-weekly on Wednesdays. These are a great way to get groceries for a reasonable price!
